Hi there, I'm Justine! I'm a mom to a little boy named Huck who is the most curious, adventurous little human I've ever met. I'm 42, currently live in Brooklyn but am originally from the Midwest. I'm an entrepreneur - I have my own social impact consultancy business. What else… I like a glass of wine and a run in the woods and to travel (Huck went on 8 trips in his first year).
I froze my eggs when I was 35 years old, then I did another round of egg freezing when I was 38 and then two full IVF rounds with donor sperm when I was 40 years old that didn't work. But those previously frozen eggs got me 2 embryos that got me Huck.
I'm straightforward and an open book - on parenthood, but also dating and work and balance. Being a solo parent is tough and I will always be honest about this in real terms. But I will also share the ways it is far more magical than I could have ever imagined.
This was not my plan B. It's only considered a plan B because of the enormous amount of societal pressure to conform to a plan A that looks like - straight, married couple with two kids. I choose to believe that I'm on a bold, joyous path that is smashing the patriarchy while also staying open to the chance I will meet a man that we are excited to have in our lives. I'm still a romantic after all.
I very much look forward to being on this journey with you.
